A New Beginning
I was surprised to see an old friend at a mutual friend's wedding yesterday. It was such a joy to see her after almost two years! We talked the afternoon away and the topic of writing came up - writing a blog actually, and sharing it with others. Hers for the purpose of writing in and of itself, but as my move to NC approaches,I thought why not create a blog to share my thoughts and journey?
I find myself not the best at keeping in touch with everyone I want to keep in touch with. It's not that I don't want to or I don't cherish and love the people who have touched my life. Sometimes life gets away from me and time passes by quickly. One week becomes a month and so on... we all know how it goes.
So "God Sent Me" is my attempt at "reporting in" and sharing myself. And anyone who knows me today - September 18, 2011 - knows my life is about serving and obeying the Lord, Jesus Christ.
"God Sent Me" is taken from the Bible - a passage that was significant through the divorce with Mike and now has reappeared as I get closer to my move to NC.
"God sent me ahead of you to make sure that you would have descendants on the earth and to save your lives in an amazing way." - Genesis 45:7 God's Word Translation
I was the last person I thought would accept Jesus into my life. I can tell you the day it happened, but I can't tell you exactly how it happened. One day I was compelled with a heart burning desire to believe, follow and live for Christ. It's outside of intellectual explanation but it's amazing. On a simple admission that I was willing to believe more then I didn't believe, I have been reborn and my life has been significantly changed and continues to be so.
Many of you who know me from AA, know my passion for "the work" and this is no different. My heart leads me to share, teach and inspire others in the Word of God -this time, it is still my life (sometimes still pretty crazy and confusing) measured against the Bible.
I hope you will check in from time to time and follow along on my journey. My goal is to always be candid, honest and "real", while seeking Truth. :)
