Time to Rename and Write

I heard God audibly three times in my life. I got the first message about 13 years ago--"go to AA." I went immediately (within 10 minutes of being instructed) and my life was never the same again (Praise God for that!). Ten years later, after moving to North Carolina for a season of rebirth, I heard the words, "cross lines," and shortly thereafter, "break chains."

I believe my unique agency in the world is to "cross lines" and "break chains"--to help others find the freedoms so bestowed upon me. It is my passion, my drive, my heart, and my expertise. If I have ever been good at anything in my life... it is getting sober using the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, learning to apply those principals in all my affairs, and teaching others to do the same. The timeless and treasured life-saving process of the 12 steps continues to deepen and enlarge my relationship with my Creator every day. The growing depth of my relationship with God has created in me a love so intense, that I have committed to following a call into the ministry (or a ministry--as more is being revealed to me and I am unsure of where this is taking me but it is sooooooooooooo exciting!).

Part of my relationship with God involves writing--and a lot of it! I journal quite bit and in that writing, I am "working out" my theories and beliefs about 12 step recovery ministry as it is filtered through my personal experiences. It is my prayer that I may be more committed to the writing  process and share it here in these pages. So here's to a another first step and a new post!
